Petition: Get restrictions on relievers pitching

We need a restriction on relievers! People are only using one reliever and using that reliever for 5+ innings. This is redicilous especially since half of them have 30- stamina. Something like 45 innings in a season and a limit of 3 innings per game for all pitchers except closers. Closers should have a 2 inning limit or something like that.

the starting pitcher rule isnt in effect no more, it was taken out.

i agree with the relievers, there should be 3 inning limit. xxscarpoxx is 14-0 with matt gurrier out of the bullpen. in 36 appearences he has 80 innings pitched. its ridiculous

I would like for a vote to come in to make it a rule to where closers can only pitch 2 inning max not 4 or 5. THX

I vote against they are harder to pitch with the longer they are out there

1) 80 innings divided by 36 appearances = 2.22 innings

I agree that we should be reasonable about using relief pitchers, but how do we all agree where to draw the line from what is normal and what is ridiculous?

I know for sure I have used my relievers for more than 2.22 innings on more than one occasion.

I can understand how sim gamers would see 2 inning max for closers as a good sim-style play rule.

There are multiple threads concerning relievers. So, if we were combining all of the reliever petitions so we all dont get confused, would it look like this?

closers = 2 innings
other relievers = 3 innings
80+ stamina relievers = ??? (i have no clue what the desire of that petition is)

I just read the other petition again and now i understand what he is saying.

He thinks the restriction should remain in place if his stamina is 80+, no matter how low his rating is.

hmmmm, I remember why the rule was described that way. It allowed people to have a low rated long reliever for extra-inning games, when the bullpen is empty, because it is illegal to use one of the 5 starters under any circumstances. I see your point though.

If the other petitions were approved to move to a vote, would the 3 inning/2inning rule take care of that problem without a separate vote?

scarpo pitched gurrier for 8.1 innings one game. and sometimes uses him for 6 or 7 innings, check gurrier stats on the website. thats a little ridiculous. how is someone 14-0 with their closer?

I don't think that we should put a restriction on this it becomes easier to hit a reliever the longer he is out there. It just so happens to be SCARPO can still locate well with his pitcher

Also because this is a draft league it limits users that weren't there for the draft and didn't get the bullpen they wanted you have to think in more instances then just one person abusing something.

For the relievers with bad stamina it's pretty realistic but when people use relievers for 5,6 innings per game it becomes bs

As I look at this petation so far it is mixed. Personally I don't feel a 3 inning restriction is fair that is why we have middle and long relivers in the game. So I would like to see some comments on a 5 inning limit. Lets hear what you think on a 5 inning max.

I feel that you have to give some leway for a long reliver to come in a pitch a few innings especailly if he is good and your starter just got rocked in the 2nd or third inning.

The simplier that we make everything the easier it will be to enforce and adhere to as well. Maybe 5 innings is to much but 3 is to little. I don't want to get to a place where we have to post who are the middle relivers and the set up men and then the closer. All of that will be to much to adhere to as well as enforce.

I do know that it is rare for a closer to go more than 1 1/3 innings or so. The set up man generally goes from 1-2 and your middle reliver can go as much as 3 innings. But I don't want to try to enforce that kind of a breakdown so that's why I am saying something like 4 and maybe 5 innings to have one rule that covers relivers period. And as I think about it maybe 5 innings is to many lets here your thoughts.

3 innings is more then enough or we could have a max number of innings for the seasons. Scarpo made this necessary.

i say 3 innings max for closers, middle relievers and setup men.

i say 5 innings max for long reliever.

I still think there should be a max numbers of innings for the entire season along with the 4 innings max per game.

and a 306 season inning limit so you can't use a reliever for to maximum innings per game. 4 inning game max 306 inning season max.

starters dont even pitch 300 innings in a full season in real life.. are you drunk?
